By doing so, you can effectively mute chat notifications throughout the duration of your focused work session.

This empowers you to optimize your productivity and stay undistracted during critical work hours. Give it a try and experience enhanced efficiency with Google Calendar’s Focus Time feature.

Mobile Device Security Reviews / IT Review

Mobile Devices. What: Mobile devices are becoming a much bigger target for cybercriminals. How: Cybercriminals will use software hidden within links to hack a mobile device. They also use Apps that contain viruses. As well as this, connecting to an unsafe wifi on your mobile device can also exploit sensitive data. Why: our mobiles know everything about us these days as we store lots of sensitive data on there. It is an easy way for cyber criminals to find a way into a company. Users are often ignorant about the danger. Top Tips: Keep your mobile device and apps updated; Be wise about using free wifi and connecting to Bluetooth; use two-factor authentication whenever possible; be sure to back up your data so if you are ever hacked you still have sensitive data stored.

All users of electronic mobile devices need to  ensure that the security controls, registration, system updates, and account information are met and maintained with current updates.

In accordance with NC State’s Office of Information Technology guidelines, it is mandatory for all mobile devices, including but not limited to Laptops, iPads, and both Android and iPhone cell phones, to meet the minimum security controls. Failing to secure these devices can potentially lead to severe consequences, such as data breaches that compromise sensitive information belonging to both you and others. This, in turn, may result in substantial fines and legal costs for the university.

To mitigate such risks, everyone is asked to complete this mandatory requirement by August 4th, 2023.
